After a complete redesign in 2018, the good folks at Chevy have been adding minor updates to the Traverse. Hey, if ain’t broke don’t fix it. Since 2018, the Traverse has been near the top of the midsize SUV market, and for good reason.
One of the things many people love about the Traverse is its vast cabin. No other vehicle in its class can match the total cargo space offered inside this SUV. There is also plenty of head, leg, and shoulder room in all three rows of seating, which comes in handy for those long carpool rides. The infotainment system is also a plus, as it is easy to master and is the cherry-on-top of this extremely practical cabin.
Features on the LS trim of the Traverse include: 18″ aluminum wheels, automatic headlamps, heated power mirrors, HID headlamps, LED daytime running lights, LED taillamps, 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot capable, active noise cancellation, 7″ color touchscreen, keyless entry, OnStar services capable, tri-zone automatic climate control, and Apple CarPlay & Android Auto smartphone integration.
Every trim of the 2020 Traverse is fitted with a 3.6-liter V6 engine with 310 horsepower. Offering above average acceleration and decent handling, the Traverse will do just fine as your daily driver. The EPA estimates that this midsize SUV will get 25 MPG highway, which is about average for this vehicle class.
The highlights of the safety systems in the Traverse include a rearview camera, and a teen driver mode. Activating this mode for your new driver will enable you to limit certain vehicle features, and will give you a “report card” regarding your teen’s driving habits.
