Are dealer doc fees the same at every dealership?
No. Doc fees vary widely from dealer to dealer, even within the same brand. One Honda dealer might charge $399 while another charges $799. Some states cap doc fees by law, but New Jersey does not, which is why the range is so wide. Always ask for the doc fee upfront before negotiating the vehicle price.
