A simple Answer TO yOUr Question
Should I install a Level 1 or Level 2 home EV charger?
Level 1 charging uses a standard 120-volt outlet and adds about 4 to 5 miles of range per hour. It works for PHEVs or drivers who travel under 40 miles per day. Level 2 charging uses a 240-volt outlet and adds 20 to 30 miles per hour, fully charging most EVs overnight. For a full battery-electric vehicle, Level 2 is strongly recommended. Most EV owners find Level 1 too slow once they experience the convenience of Level 2.
