Are extended warranties and GAP insurance junk fees?

Not exactly. They're optional products (you can decline them), but dealers mark them up 100-300%. If you want GAP insurance, buy it from your auto insurance company ($3-5/month) instead of the dealer ($600-$900 upfront).
