Can I return a leased car early to the dealer?

You can return it, but you will owe the early termination charges outlined in your lease contract. Simply dropping the car off at the dealer does not end your financial obligation. Some dealers will work with you on a trade-in deal where they pay off the remaining lease as part of a new purchase, which can reduce your out-of-pocket cost if the car has equity.
