When is the deadline to buy a business vehicle for a 2026 tax deduction?
The vehicle must be purchased and placed in service (meaning you are actively using it for business) before December 31, 2026. Simply ordering or putting a deposit down does not count. If you are planning a year-end purchase, start the process by October to allow time for ordering, delivery, and any financing approvals.
