How do I know if my lease has equity?

Compare your car's current market value to the payoff amount on your lease. If the market value is higher than the payoff, you have positive equity. You can check your payoff by calling your leasing company or logging into your account online. Then compare that number to what your car is worth on sites like Kelley Blue Book, Edmunds, or by getting offers from CarMax or Carvana.
