Does NJ require a vehicle inspection to sell a car?
New Jersey does not require the seller to provide a current inspection before selling a vehicle. The buyer takes responsibility for the car's condition and inspection status after the sale. However, if you are selling privately, a current inspection sticker can make your listing more attractive. Dealers and online buyers price condition into their offers regardless of the inspection status.
