What is the safest way to accept payment when selling a car privately?
For private sales, a bank cashier's check or electronic wire transfer are the safest options. Cash is acceptable for low-value vehicles but creates risks at higher amounts. Personal checks carry risk because they can bounce after you have already handed over the keys and title. Never accept a check for more than the asking price with a request to return the difference, as this is a well-documented scam.

I rarely write any reviews, I do find it necessary that I write one this time.I haven't purchased a new vehicle for quite some time. When I decided to move forward I dreaded the thought of having to go through the process of dealing with multiple dealerships, gathering quotes etc. and having to deal with pushy, non-transparent sales and finance people.
