Should I lease a Tesla or a mainstream brand EV?

Tesla vehicles lease at a premium compared to equivalent mainstream brand EVs. Tesla does not participate in traditional dealer incentive programs and sets their own pricing. Mainstream brands like Hyundai, Kia, Chevrolet, and Ford often offer more aggressive lease terms because they are competing for market share. Unless you have a strong preference for the Tesla ecosystem, mainstream EVs typically pencil out better on a lease payment.
