How the Vantage Deal Process Works from Start to Finish

From Quick Quote to keys in hand, here is exactly what the Vantage process looks like and how long each step takes for most NJ buyers.

The Full Picture: What Happens at Each Stage

Most buyers who use Vantage have never worked with an auto broker before and want to know what to expect before they start. Here is the complete process from first contact to driving home in your new vehicle.

Stage 1: The Quick Quote (Day 1)

You submit a Quick Quote online with the vehicle you want, your preferences, and your situation. This takes about 5 minutes. Vantage reviews the request and typically responds within one business day with real pricing based on current inventory and incentive programs.

Stage 2: Deal Review and Questions (Days 1 to 3)

You review the numbers Vantage puts together. This is the stage where most questions come up: what the fees mean, how the payment was calculated, whether a different trim or color is available, or what happens if you want to add a trade-in. Vantage works through all of this with you until the deal makes sense and you are confident in it.

Stage 3: Vehicle Confirmation (Days 2 to 5)

Once you approve the deal, Vantage confirms the vehicle with the dealership and secures the pricing. For vehicles in stock, this is typically same-day. For factory orders or hard-to-locate vehicles, it may take longer. You receive confirmation once the vehicle is committed to your deal.

Stage 4: Financing and Pre-Approval (Days 3 to 5)

If you are financing, this is when credit is submitted and approvals are confirmed. Vantage coordinates between you and the lender to finalize the rate and terms before your delivery appointment. No surprises at the table.

Stage 5: Delivery and Signing (Days 5 to 7)

You come to the dealership for a brief signing appointment, typically 1 to 2 hours. The vehicle, price, and financing are already locked in. You review and sign the contract, complete any trade-in paperwork, and drive home in your new vehicle.

Initially, I thought there was no way a cross-country acquisition would make financial sense, but I figured I had nothing to lose by seeing how their numbers compared to my local PNW market. I worked with Elka the entire way. She was fantastic from day one. When our scope of vehicles was too large, she helped us narrow it down and even suggested we try a Volvo XC60 PHEV—a car that wasn't even on our radar. After test-driving options in Seattle, we narrowed it down to the Mercedes GLC350E vs. the Volvo XC60. I contacted Vantage on a Sunday, and Elka called me within minutes despite being out and about. While she started working on numbers that Monday, I began negotiating with two local sales reps simultaneously. After 24 hours, the local reps hadn't even returned my calls. By then, Elka already had preliminary numbers. We settled on the Volvo XC60 PHEV as it provided the best value. To be diligent, I expanded my search to five other dealers in the PNW for the exact same specs Elka found. The experience was typical dealership frustration: automated responses, AI chatbots that stood me up on calls, and "out the door" quotes that were substantially higher. Even accounting for the $1,700 freight cost to ship the car across the country, the best local deal I could find was still $2,100 higher than Vantage’s quote. We ended up using Elka’s contact at All America Auto Transport for the shipping.It might seem crazy to go through this to save $400 out of pocket, but the value went beyond the price. It saved me a full day of driving to Portland, fuel costs, and hours of "Dealership BS" in a finance office. That alone was worth thousands to me. The paperwork was the easiest I’ve ever experienced. It was done remotely with zero pressure for add-ons. I could read the entire contract at my own pace without distractions. Delivery was just as seamless. Elka sent photos of the loading process and kept me updated constantly. The car actually arrived several days early; it was originally quoted for May 13th and arrived on the 9th! The only downside to shipping was that our first stop was the car wash, but after that, we had a brand-new XC60 in our driveway that exceeded expectations. As a professional buyer for a large company, I take pride in my negotiation skills. I never expected a broker to get a better deal than I could get for myself, but local dealers wouldn't even engage at the levels Elka secured. Thank you, Elka, and thank you, Vantage Auto Group. Vehicle delivery logistics depend on the dealership involved in the transaction. Some dealers offer home delivery as an option. Vantage can coordinate delivery arrangements as part of the deal when this option is available and makes sense for your situation.

Most of the process, including the quote, vehicle selection, financing, and deal review, can be handled remotely. NJ law requires that certain documents be signed at the dealership or before a notary, so there is typically a final signing appointment, but it is usually brief since all the decisions have already been made.

Vantage typically communicates via phone, text, or email depending on your preference. You receive updates at each key stage, from quote to vehicle confirmation to delivery scheduling. There is no waiting around at a dealership while someone disappears into a back office.
